I could not speak higher of my undergraduate degree at the Cork School of Music. Here is a list of some of the things I learned during my undergraduate degree: - Music Theory/Aural - Rhythm - Learning to read and write rhythm. - Choral Arrangement - Songwriting - Ensemble (working in bands, covering different styles of music) - Keys - Vocal Sectionals (vocal harmony groups) - PIS - This consisted of a private vocal lesson which would prepare you for end of term exams. Some of what I learned during these lessons include, vocal technique, vocal pedagogy, scales, studies, warmups, exercises, vocal health, songs of different styles. - Music Technology (worked a studio, how to use a PA system, how to use foley, how to make synths etc) - Music History - SPP (Specialised Pop Performance)- A select few were lucky enough to perform an hour long set of songs (original/covers) to a high standard at the end of each term. This gave me a real taste for performing in a very professional setting.
