Hello my name is Michelle! I have been playing with various ensembles in Dublin for many years. I am currently a member of the Dublin Symphony Orchestra, and I perform regularly in venues such as the National Concert Hall, Dublin, National Opera House, Wexford and University Concert Hall, Limerick. I am also a cello player with the newly-formed Irish Film & Pops Orchestra, and I was cello leader for the very first concert in December 2017. In July 2023, I took part in the Adult Youth Orchestra of Ireland weekend course in Limerick. The orchestra was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, which was supposed to take place in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the celebrations were delayed by several years. A keen chamber musician, I play both piano and cello with the Dublin Chamber Music Group. I also take part regularly in masterclasses, including the Austrian Master Class for chamber music in Salzburg. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Trinity College Dublin, and a Higher Diploma in Music Education (Honours) from Griffith College Dublin. I also obtained a Senior Certificate in Piano, Cello and Musicianship from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. I also have an Associate and Licentiate Diploma for Piano from the Central Academy of Music, London, and a Licentiate Diploma in Music Education from the Leinster School of Music & Drama, Dublin.
